Tips for growing grapes

- The place for planting grapes should be the warmest and sunniest spot on your plot.
- Light is the second most important factor after warmth. Therefore, grape bushes should be arranged in a line from north to south.
- Don’t rush to buy the first grape seedling you see. Find out which varieties thrive in your climate zone and how resistant they are to diseases and pests.
- Don’t overdo it with fertilizers. The desire to help grapes is understandable and noble. But it is better to apply mineral and organic fertilizers in small doses and regularly than to give “horse” doses all at once.
- The simplest beginner-level tying is at a 45-degree angle. In some cases, it allows you to get rid of the standardization of the bush with shoots and harvest.
- Grapes need to be watered carefully. A powerful root system makes this plant very sensitive to both excess moisture and lack thereof.
- The use of agrotextile for grapes will provide good protection from the heat, while at the same time helping to warm the soil in spring. Agrotextile is durable and can be used for up to 3-4 seasons. It will also increase the harvest by 20-25%.
