How to choose agrofibre: advices and recommendations
Agrofiber
simplifies the lives of summer residents, gardeners and farmers. With its help,
it is possible to protect plants from the negative influence of weather
conditions, from weeds and pests, as well as increase yield, improve the
quality of cultivated crops, and accelerate the process of plant maturation.
In this
article we want to give you advice on how to choose the right agrofibre and
what to look for.
First of
all, it is necessary to determine for what needs the agrofiber is needed.
Agrofiber can be white, black, brown and green. Depending on the color, the
agrofiber has different purposes.
- White agrofibre is used as a cover material to create a greenhouse effect. White agrofibre protects plants from adverse weather conditions and frosts, which ensures an early harvest.
- Black
agrofibre has the effect of mulching, it is used as a weed protection. In
addition, it provides rapid heating of the soil, as black agrofibre absorbs
more heat. Mulch prevents excessive evaporation of moisture from the soil,
preventing it from drying out.
- Brown and
green agrofibre performs the same functions as black agrofibre, but it is good
to use in landscaping due to its natural color.
Secondly, when buying, you should pay attention to the density of the agrofibre. The strength of frosts from which it protects plants depends on this characteristic, as well as whether it can be laid directly on crops or a frame is needed.
- Agrofibre 17 g/m², 19 g/m², 23 g/m² is a thin and
light fabric that is spread on the ground over planted seeds or seedlings. It
protects against frost down to -5⁰С.
- Agrofibre 30 g/m² is denser and designed both for
direct laying on beds and for creating tunnel greenhouses using arches. Easily
withstands frosts of -5⁰С, perfectly protects plants from wind, hail, even
snow.
- Agrofibre 50 g/m² - used for sheltering parks and
warmth, sheltering bushes and trees from frost. Protects from cold down to
-8⁰С.
