Popular niche crops – agreti
It has been worshiped in Italy for hundreds of years, but it was almost
unknown in other countries of the world until recently.
History:
in the Middle Ages, this crop was wild, so you could make good money collecting
it, because it was used for the production of Murano and Venetian glass.
Popularity:
now include in the diet many fashionable restaurants of the world.
Demand:
agretti seeds are not easy to buy now, because everyone wants to grow it.
Benefit:
it is considered a “superfood”, is a dietary product (sometimes compared
to spinach, but they are not similar in taste);
rich in vitamin A, calcium, vitamins C, B1, B2, B3, B6 and E and is a
source of chlorophyll, phosphorus and magnesium;
has a diuretic effect due to its high water content;
It is useful for the reclamation of saline soils, as it extracts soda
from them.
Eating:
usually boiled, sometimes baked or fried;
added to soups, sauces, salads, pasta and other dishes.
